Search Strategies

For the Library Catalog

  • Type topic, then click Subject
  • If you get zero or few results, refine your search then click Keyword.

For Gale in Context: High School

  • Type topic in box, then click Search
  • Select an article or two under Reference to get background information
    • Limit your search (right-hand side) if needed
  • Select additional magazine and/or news articles, video clips, websites, etc. under other categories in order to get more detailed information 
  • To cite your article, use the Export to NoodleTools feature.

For Teen Health & Wellness

  • Type in your chosen genetic condition
    • Read the introductory article on the first page
    • Look for additional articles/pages from the left-hand column
  • To cite your article, use the Export to NoodleTools feature.

For EBSCO Explora

  • Type in your Subject or Keywords
  • Read article summaries, then select desired articles or modify search keywords
  • Make sure your article is fairly recent - articles should be no older than 5 years.
  • To cite your article, use the Export to NoodleTools feature.

For SIRS Researcher

  • Type in your Subject or Keywords
    • Read article summaries, then select desired articles or modify search keywords
    • Make sure your article is fairly recent - articles should be no older than 5 years

Cite Your Sources

Remember:

  • Citations from databases can be exported directly to NoodleTools (the exception is Britannica)
  • Use the Quick Cite (Copy and Paste) to add citations from Britannica.
  • Articles in reference books often have the author's name at the end of the article
  • If you have forgotten your password click the I forgot my password link under the Sign In box.
  • NoodleTools can now cite content created using AI like Chat GPT.
