Tips for Country Research

Start with finding basic information about your country:

  • Use our databases: World Geography, Gale in Context: High School and EBSCO.
  • Look for books using the library catalog.

Locate more in-depth information:

  • Look up your country’s permanent mission to the UN.
  • Find your country’s voting records and read speeches on the United Nations Bibliographic Information System website.
  • Search the UN Website using the country name and keywords from your issue to find committees that your country sits on to give you data on how your country feels about certain topics.
  • Make sure to evaluate websites by checking for authority (author/sponsor), content, and date.
